Includes the creation, development, design, and improvement of products, equipment, facilities, services, standards, and procedures in all engineering fields. The DevOps area is responsible for creating combined software development and IT operations practices which shorten the systems delivery life cycle and provide a continuous delivery platform. area complements the efficiencies of Agile software development methods. The Multi-Focus attribute is typically reserved for roles that either: (1) are fully described by their area or function description; or (2) span multiple disciplines, products, or focuses of expertise. This job family is in the professional level category and works independently with flexibility and authority over daily work priorities. Incumbents in this job level category may provide work direction to other employees but would not typically have the authority to discipline or reward other employees. There are different levels available that provide clarity on contribution expectations based on knowledge, application, problem solving, and collaboration.

**Position summary**

We're looking for people who will thrive in an environment of self-direction and relative autonomy.

As Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and operate software and services to manage, automate, monitor, and analyze the NTT Global IP Network (AS 2914). You will work with IP Development and Network Operations to enhance and extend our network automation and monitoring platforms.

**Location requirement**

Engineering at NTT Global IP Network is remote-first. This position is fully remote and is not limited to candidates in the United States.

Occasional travel may be required (as conditions permit).


Minimum qualifications:

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

+ Self-discipline and an ability to self-direct

+ Ability to effectively collaborate with fully remote teams

+ Prior experience working remotely is preferred

+ 5+ years of experience with at least one widely used programming language

+ 5+ years of experience with internet infrastructure concepts / protocols, e.g.:

+ IP routing and BGP

+ Network measurement (e.g. SNMP, streaming telemetry)

+ IRR (route registry)

+ Experience or familiarity with:

+ Linux/UNIX

+ Python 3

+ SQL / RDBMS (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL)

+ HTTP API patterns (e.g., REST, GraphQL)

+ Version control (Git)

Preferred qualifications:

+ Experience or familiarity with:

+ Docker

+ Node.js or C/C++ HTML, CSS, JavaScript/ES6+, DOM, React

+ Browser security (e.g., XSS, CSRF)


+ Work with other Global IP Network departments to identify problems that need solving. Then, solve them.

+ Design, develop, and operate software and services to further our mission:

+ Streamline operations and execution

+ Reduce time-to-provision and time-to-repair

+ Empower customer-facing teams to deliver customer success

+ Enhance and extend the Global IP Network SDN Controller

+ Maintain a current working knowledge in relevant technologies / languages

+ Maintain a current working knowledge of application security best practices
