For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.The salary range for this position is $159,000 - $238,500 (Annual Rate).To learn more about the benefits of working at UCSF, including total compensation, please visit: Department DescriptionThe Office of the CIO (OCIO) enables the mission and vision of UCSF by offering a mature set of critical, cross-functional management disciplines that assure the highest standards for IT delivery. The OCIO supports the deployment of the IT Associate Vice Chancellor/Senior Vice President’s agenda, which establishes alignment of the IT investment in people, technology, projects and operating model improvements with UCSF’s most important priorities across our health, research and education missions. The Information Technology department is a comprehensive IT function that includes IT leadership and support for UCSF’s research, health, and education missions, as well as all University business functions. In this capacity, the department employees over 1000 IT professionals serving all areas of the University with IT solutions and services.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.5+ years of relevant progressive experienceTypically 2-5 years of experience managing teams - preferably within academic medical organization.Uses and applies applications Information Technology theories and concepts to manage and provide solutions.Strong knowledge and understanding of service delivery principles.Requires a broad working knowledge of the information system implementation – specific project management practices, system support and operational business strategy.Requires the ability to gather, organize, and analyze data in the completion of assignments.Possesses skills necessary to accomplish department/section objectives and address related problems and issues in an effective manner.Thorough knowledge of the subject area or system support is necessary and sufficient for strategic planning, technology assessment, and direction.Demonstrated skill in managing analysis and project support technical staff.Experience in the management of ongoing technology system support to include the identification and integration of suitable emerging technologies specifically those that relate to research compliance support.Thorough knowledge of technical concepts and basic operating principles for system implemetnation, project management, change management and operational support processes.Ability to understand the process involved to adapt, integrate, and modify existing programs or vendor-supplied products for use within the technical environment.Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively present technical topics to individuals and groups with potentially varied levels of technical sophistication.Preferred QualificationsExperienced in leading change management activities and managing their impact across the unit or department.Experience of analyzing buy vs.
