Our client in Philadelphia will be hiring a Staff Accountant, in order to assist with the increasing workload in their Finance department. This is a longer-term Contract position with the opportunity to become a permanent employee. Responsibilities:

• Maintain the general ledger through recording daily cash receipts and financial transactions
• Prepare and post daily invoices and payments into journal entries  
• Assist in the reconciliation of assigned Balance Sheet accounts.
• Record all acquisitions, dispositions or adjustments of fixed assets including depreciation.
• Prepare the accounting and recording of bi-weekly payrolls, and month-end payroll accruals into the accounting system.
• Perform quarterly reconciliation of Form 941 into the general ledger
• Support accounting team in quarterly and year-end review and external audit
• Provide additional accounting and financial support to management as needed

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required
• 1-3 years of Accounting or Finance experience
• Proficient with Excel V-Lookup and Pivot Tables. Great Plains experience preferred
• Must be well organized, and have the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks before deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and analytical skills are necessary to be successful with this position
