•Assumes a senior technical specialist role in management of laboratory information system
•Designs, develops and implements test database builds and system integration
•Provides technical expertise throughout application
development phases from inception to requirements, elaboration, construction,
deployment and maintenance
•Supports production applications and systems; ensuring each
system operates per service level agreements, and complies with government
regulations and industry standards
•Collaborate with business partners, architects, project managers,
and IT Infrastructure colleagues throughout development
•Provide project estimations
•Support project manager during planning and development
•Ensure development compliance with established development
methodologies, company policies, CAP, and security standards
•Evaluates emerging technologies, application architecture,
development trends / methods and industry best practices
•Gather and document requirements in use case or applicable
technical specification format
•Develop code based on design specification
•Create and execute unit test cases and support QC, load and
•Create implementation plan to deploy software in
development, staging and/or production environments
•Provide production support

Bachelor’s degree – BA or BS – or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years of laboratory information system experience.
Below lists the
required knowledge and experiences.
• Thorough understanding of laboratory information systems including database, reporting, compliance, regulatory, and workflows
• SQL and reporting knowledge
• Knowledge of laboratory workflow and terminology, including Clinical, AP, Blood Bank, and Micro
•Windows, HPUX or Linux
Other qualifications should include the following:
•Master data management concepts, solutions and
•Excellent communication skills – both oral and written
•Excellent problem solving skills and proven ability to
systematically debug problems and isolate root cause
•Ability to work in a matrix environment – collaborating
across different IT functions
•Load testing using LoadRunner or equivalent (desirable)
•Learning on the Fly
