Housing Locator

The Housing Locator is responsible for working with identified homeless individuals and families in Loudoun County to assist in securing permanent housing. This position is to focus on outreach, individual assessments, assessing and assisting individuals with applications, and identifying housing barriers that prevent housing stability. Also, this position will work with all partners of Loudoun County to provide housing supports and location assistance throughout the County.

  • Train other program staff on support tools that enforce Housing First Philosophy and lead to permanent housing solutions.
  • Work with program and Loudoun County providers to create, manage and maintain a housing inventory database that details all available housing resources in Loudoun County.
  • Provide direction and resources for housing in neighboring counties.
  • Build strength based relationships with individuals experiencing housing crisis and assist them with locating permanent housing solutions.
  • Develop relationships with property owners and managers to expand housing opportunities for those homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless.
  • Manage multiple projects/ requests in a professional, timely manner.
  • Act as liaison between the program and external partners by establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with city authorities, local and professional community agencies and resources, and the faith-based community.
  • Monitor and maintain positive working partnership with all designated religious partners ensuring program delivery.
  • Manage, compile , monitor, and maintain all required reports including overseeing data input
  • Ensure that services are implemented in accordance with agency philosophy, best practice, grant and contract requirements and all applicable federal, state and local regulations

The successful candidate must have effective oral and written communication skills, be able to develop effective working relationships with other staff, community partners, and individuals served at the program.  Strong organization skills, problem-solving skills and judgment are desired.   OTHER:  This position requires driving the company vehicle (up to 15 passengers) and personal vehicle for company business including transporting clients/residents.  Must be privileged to drive according to the criteria set forth by Agency MVR guidelines.
