The primary responsibility of the Senior Accountant is to ensure accurate and timely day-to-day accounting, play a lead in the monthly close process, as well as assist with quarterly and annual reporting responsibilities. The job will encompass the specific tasks/duties as detailed below. An ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP). Further responsibilities may be defined as the position evolves.
Prior experience in share-based compensation, accounting for joint ventures, intercompany reconciliations and/or consolidation team is preferred but not required.
What will I be doing?
• Responsible for comprehensive review and analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts at various levels (detailed and consolidated);
• Owns the following advanced accounting concepts and processes (including but not limited to) Accounting for equity investments; Accounting for noncontrolling interests; Complex intercompany reconciliation and settlements; Accounting for stock compensation; Equity rollforward; Corporate expense allocations; Debt.
• Performs proper legal entity accounting that respects ownership and tax structures in place;
• Assists Consolidations Senior Manager with accounting for acquisitions, dispositions, and complex legal/tax restructurings as needed;
• Provides front-line support for the external and internal auditors;
• Assists in the preparation of management reports and supporting schedules for 10-Qs, 10-Ks, and requested documents for the Financial Reporting team;
• Assists with the preparation of reporting to various internal and external customers;
• Interacts regularly with all levels of management;
• Performs various ad-hoc projects as necessary;
