Precision Services Technician - Legacy Farmers Cooperative - Findlay, OH

Summary/Objective: The Precision Services Technician role is focused on growing Legacy Farmers Cooperative Precision Agriculture Division, building strong relationships with customers, and providing leading-edge agronomic advising services for both customers and Legacy Farmers Crop Specialist in traditional agronomic principles with a strong sustainability focus and digital product support.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Precision
* Willing to learn aspects of field computers, variable rate controllers, and GPS equipment used in the ag industry and provide seasonally relevant support for commonly used monitors as necessary (John Deere, Raven, Ag Leader, Precision Planting, etc.)
* Knowledgeable, or be willing to learn, the current 2020 Tri-State Fertilizer Recommendations for Corn, Soybeans, and Wheat
* Knowledgeable, or be willing to learn, nutrient management pertaining to current governmental programs offered in Northwest Ohio
* Assist in creating fertilizer recommendations for customers and helping them make informed business decisions by utilizing our software offerings while upholding 4R standards
* Maintain exceptional level of knowledge in all facets of Legacy Farmers Precision Program
* Assist Precision Services Manager in developing grower crop plans, rotations, and product positioning by unlocking the potential of every acre while supporting individual customers' goals
* Collect, analyze, and interpret data (yield, planting, as-applied, etc.) for year-end reviews with customers
* Ensure all items sold through the Precision Division are delivered, implemented, or installed timely
* Ensure all services provided assist in achieving Legacy Rx profitability
* Comfortable?challenging customers and?playing the role of a?change agent to efficiently improve customer operations
* Support scouting/tissue sampling program
* Be willing to assist with soil sampling as needed
* Upload prescriptions to field computers and provide support to agronomy locations
* Assist in maintaining 4R standard of agronomy locations
* Assist with aerial application
* Understand Climate FieldView and be willing to provide support

* Nurture customer relations and uphold Legacy Farmer's customer service values
* Perform all other duties necessary to meet and exceed customer needs and expectations

Requirements:
* Must be willing to maintain or obtain a Certified Crop Advisor certification within 1 year of employment
* Associates Degree, 2+ years of previous Precision Agriculture experience, or equivalent
* Position requires a full range of body motion including bending, squatting and twisting
* Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and reach with hands and arms above shoulders
* Ability to handle multiple tasks
* Maintain an attitude that promotes teamwork within the cooperative and a favorable image of the cooperative
* Ability to adapt to and work longer and/or varied hours during busy season as the needs of the business dictate
* Customer-service focused
* Clean driving record
* Good computer skills
Miscellaneous Responsibilities & Preferred Experience:
* Limited overnight travel
* Standard work week is Monday through Friday; needs of the business may dictate exceptions to this standard
* Applicants agree to be drug tested as a condition of employment and will not be hired should he/she fail to produce a negative test
* Possesses flexibility and adaptability in meeting constraints and demands
