Description

Why this role matters:

The Bender JCC offers a variety of group exercise classes through our group exercise program, and our Group Exercise Instructors are responsible for instructing and guiding members in those classes. This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with our community and have a significant impact on the experience of members and guests.

We are currently looking for instructors for Les Mills, Zumba/Dance, Aqua Aerobics, Freestyle, Yoga/Pilates, and Cycle/Spin classes, however, we are open to applications for other formats.

Core Responsibilities
  • Lead group fitness exercise class while adhering to safety guidelines and regulations.
  • Begin and end class on time.
  • Ensure that equipment is put away and the studio remains ready for the next class.
  • Report any incidents, inquiries, or complaints to the Director, Health and Fitness.
  • Secure a substitute for class when unable to work. This includes informing supervisor of substitute and confirming with substitute.
  • Complete payroll by due dates at the end of each pay period.

You have:
  • Licensed Group Certification for applicable course format(s) being taught.
  • 1 year of experience teaching group exercise.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to lift 25lbs or greater.
  • Physical ability to perform workout.
  • Required CPR/AED certification.
  • Ability to perform other duties and responsibilities as needed, required, or assigned.

Additional Information

This is a part-time position, with a rate starting at $30-32 per hour class. As an active Bender JCC employee, you will receive an individual membership to the Bender JCC, including complete access to the entire fitness facility, pools, and group exercise classes.
