Your role:
  • In your role as an Engineering Technician III, you will work as an experienced member of a robust functional team required to plan, implement, and test military assets, government equipment, and various electrical systems in direct support of the Instrumentation, Data Acquisition and Processing division for U.S. Army Aviation Flight Test Directorate Redstone Test Center.
What you’ll do all day:
  • Plan, implement, and test a variety of assets used by the U.S military.
  • Operating, maintaining, calibrating and repairing equipment associated with a Telemetry Ground Station to include measurement/tracking, multiplexing, amplification, signal conditioning, multi-couplers, acquisition, RF transmitters/receivers, PCM encoders/decoders and parabolic antenna systems, as well as construction and modification of Data Cycle Maps for live telemetry feeds.
  • Transport, Set-Up, Operate, and maintain the Apache MUMT trailer to include RX/TX devices, military radios, various antennas
  • Troubleshoot integrated computer networks.
  • Interpret customer technical data and design input from engineering team in order to setup and complete test projects.
  • Utilize Standard Operating Procedures, work procedures, quality documents and safety guidelines daily.
  • Collaborate with teammates in establishing best practices, workplace organization, and inventory programs.
  • Work with the on-site maintenance team to instruct and plan for upgrades and improvements to equipment.
  • Train as a multi-functional technician working with mechanical, electrical, and general maintenance tasks associated with tasks to complete test projects.
  • Other duties as required to support the RTC AFTD mission.

Minimum requirements for this position:
  • Associate of Science Degree in Aerospace/Electronics field from an accredited college/university and three (3) years of applicable experience; or five (5) years of applicable experience supporting engineering or testing of hardware in the appropriate area of specialization.
  • Read and understand schematics, mechanical/electrical drawings, and work instructions.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and general maintenance on an intermediate level.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • Be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must have HS diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance
  • Pass pre-employment drug test and random drug test program.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively throughout an 8 hour shift.
  • Ability and willingness to work in extreme hot and cold environments.
  • Have a deep understanding and commitment to safety.
  • Willing to perform a variety of task ranging from simple to complex in nature.
Desired skills and experience for this position:
  • Significant instrumentation / electronics and/or mechanical experience.
  • Previous background working as an Engineering Technician.
  • IT experience with computer networking.
  • Significant computer skills.
  • CDL
