**Overview**

Our Reston, VA office is seeking an ambitious traffic engineer to support a variety of transportation projects for public and private clients in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.

**Responsibilities**

You will have opportunities to quickly gain exposure to client interactions, project financials, and will be expected to serve in task and project management roles. As a valuable addition to our team, you will solve complex problems, exercise creativity, and collaborate with partners to provide excellent products for our clients.

Our team is looking for an engineer to support various traffic engineering, operations analysis, and transportation design projects (traffic signals, signage and pavement markings, etc.). These projects require the use of analysis software (Synchro, SIDRA), CADD programs (Microstation, AutoCAD Civil 3D), Microsoft Excel, and other related software. Our team is looking for an engineer with strong communication skills (written and oral) and effective client management. We are looking for an experienced engineer to quickly step into a project management role and support training and growth of younger staff.

**Qualifications**

**Requirements** :

+ Bachelor's Degree in a relevant program (i.e., civil engineering) and 4+ years of relevant experience

+ Passion for transportation planning, traffic operations, and transportation design

+ Experience performing traffic analysesand/or traffic engineering design

+ Intermediate software skills using _most_ of the following software:

+ Synchro

+ SIDRA

+ AutoCAD Civil 3D

+ Microstation

+ Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills exhibited by experience writing reports and giving presentations to technical and non-technical audiences

+ Passion and demonstrated drive to achieve goals

+ Use of creativity to recommend solutions to challenging problems

+ Attention to detailto deliver high-quality and accurate deliverables

+ Ability to contribute to a positive work environment

+ Clear sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet deadlines

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Experience managing tasks or small projects, including management of project budgets and schedule

+ Experience teaching or delegating tasks to younger staff

+ Experience using ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro to produce maps
