Lancer Saint Paul, MN Full-Time

The Assistant General Manager is responsible for the training and oversight of a permanent staffing team, food quality, preparation, and production. Staffing teams include but are not limited to; Executive Chef, Sous Chef, food service managers, cashiers, baristas, cooks, utility, and catering. Responsible for ensuring that Lancer is delivering high quality food with friendly service and each locations dining operation is run in a professional, efficient and profitable manner.  On occasion, the AGM is also responsible for staffing and oversight of events and service that might be needed outside of our regular operating hours. Must be able to demonstrate strong leadership abilities, communication skills, and the ability to nurture a team-centered work environment in which staff members are motivated to provide exceptional service. Responds to customer questions and suggestions regarding our menu and service.  Must have a commitment to providing exceptional customer service for every customer, every time.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise day-to-day task assignments and performance for employees
  • Plan and prepare work schedules
  • Maintain labor percentages in accordance with company procedure.
  • Recruitment, training and retention of large staffing team that includes Chefs, cashiers, baristas, cooks, utility, catering sales manager and catering sales team.
  • Oversee cash management procedures on a daily basis.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership and communication skills with all employees.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in culinary arts or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience coordinating food service operations.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience with communicating with hourly staff as well as Executive level communications.
  • The ability to manage in a diverse environment with a sharp focus on client and customer services, as well as building, growing and owning a strong business.
  • Experience with and knowledge of all Microsoft Office suite applications.
