Job Title

Director ofAccount Management

Job Summary

This position services as the primary contact and liaison to the state Medicaid agencies, federal agencies, and commercial clients for our non-MAC work. It also works with contractors, vendors, associations, and provider community associated with these contracts. The position manages the operational, financial and contractural performance of our contracts.

Essential Functions

Key Duties/Responsibilities/Accountabilities

Manages the performance of the project management staff for non-MAC work.

Manages the financial performance of our contracts.

Provides contract management for the non-MAC work (e.g. work with Legal and Contract Administration of changes).

Cultivates a positive working relationship with the state/federal agency associated with our contracts.

Provides support to the bid and marketing team on growth initiatives (e.g., SME on Medicaid, visit to prospective client, input on key personnel).

Achieves contract expectations for the state contract and attains established Service Level Agreement (SLA) criteria.

Oversees the measurement and monitoring of staff performance.

Assures all in scope compenents meet appropriate certification requirements.

Participates in change management process and reviews to manage contract scope changes.

Coordinates budget management for contract.

Ensures necessary internal controls are established, documented, and adhered to.

Serves as liaison and primary contact for prime or subcontractors regarding contract performance.

Responsible for contract negotiation, participates in executive committees, sub-committees, and work groups, and facilitates problem identification and troubleshooting with partners and customer(s).

Coordinates resolution activities and follow-up.

Supports contract's technical direction and ensures compliance with all Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and other legislative mandates.

Determines and develops the technical/operational needs for program stakeholders.

Initiates innovative recommendations to customer(s) and prime contractor.

Provides leadership and direction.

Provides management objectives and course(s) of action.

Recruits, develops, motivates, directs, and provides performance management to professional staff.

Establishes strategic goals, monitors and reports progress.

Coaches and develops staff by encouraging growth and ensuring staff are meeting performance expectations.

Initiates disciplinary action when performance does not meet expectations.

Manages budgets and works to meet requirements with available funding.

Leads by example by promoting team work, recognition and leadership while demonstrating company values.

Assists in organizational and corporate growth opportunities.

Responds to and implements changes in a flexible, positive manner.

Acts as the area subject-matter expert to support responsiveness to the organization's customers.

Non-Essential Duties and Functions

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field and 7 years' healthcare experience or equivalent education and experience as determined by Human Resources.

  • 5 years management experience

  • 3 years Medicaid experience

  • Public relations, interpersonal, and presentation skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Management and organizational skills

  • Problem solving and analytical skills

  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills

  • Ability to read and comprehend technical documents

  • Ability to define, lead, and manage projects

Preferred Qualifications

Above requirements and the following:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration or related field

  • 10 years healthcare experience

  • 8 years management experience

  • 6 years Medicaid experience

  • Knowledge of Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS)

  • Experience with contracting - terms and negotiations

  • Performance management of subcontractors

Environment and Cognitive/Physical Demands

  • Office Environment

  • Ability to read, hear, speak, keyboard, reason, communicate effectively and problem solve

  • Requires prolonged sitting and telephone use

  • Requires the use of office equipment such as computer terminals, telephones, copiers and printers

  • Infrequent lifting to 15 pounds

  • Infrequent stooping

  • Travel up to 25%

Per Colorado’s Equal Pay Transparency Rules Act, below is the salary range for potential new hires that will be working/residing in the state of Colorado.

Colorado Salary Range: $116,928.32 – $192,027.50

Other Compensation: Self-Managed PTO (if applicable), Incentive Plan

Lifestyle Benefit: $50/month
