Help Desk Technician

Nesco Resource is partnering with a large manufacturing company in the Albany area in its search for a Help Desk Technician! This is a temporary position to start with the potential to become permanent. The Help Desk Technician will primarily support the Latham location, but will also support the Queensbury location at times.

Responsibilities:


  • Triage and resolve incidents, problems, and requests efficiently using the ITSM tool.

  • Configure, install, and troubleshoot software, laptops, desktops, IP phones, mobile devices, printers, and other computer peripherals.

  • Provide timely support onsite, remotely, and over the phone as part of global IT call center.

  • Perform after-hours work as needed on a rotating schedule.

  • Procure standardized hardware and software from vendors, escalating non-standard requests to leadership.

  • Follow change procedures for employee events (new hires, terminations, transfers, promotions, etc.).

  • Assign roles and permissions to network resources such as SharePoint sites, file shares, and ERP systems.

  • Manage client-side end point protection, reacting to alerts and proactively performing updates as needed.

  • Facilitate maintenance and repairs of IT assets with third-party vendors.

  • Support the setup and use of audio/visual components for meetings.

  • Create and maintain internal and end user-facing knowledge articles, as well as provide 1:1 training when needed.

  • Manage telecommunications lines, accounts and services.

  • Assist in onsite support of network infrastructure equipment as needed.

  • Remain up to date on current technologies that are applicable to the business.

  • Complete assigned project tasks within expected timelines.

  • Follow corporate policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and other items as they relate to business practices and/or legal and regulatory compliance.

  • May perform other duties as assigned


Requirements:


  • AS in a related field preferred

  • Prior experience in configuring, installing and troubleshooting various types of computer hardware and peripherals.

  • Prior experience in configuring, installing, and troubleshooting Windows, web browsers, Microsoft Office, and iOS.

  • Familiarity with local and wide area networks

  • Familiarity with MacOS
