The Headlines:
In the role of Director of Category Insights working in Bentonville, AR you will be the leader of the Walmart Category Team. This role is responsible for executing the category advisor agreement with Walmart. Additionally, this role is accountable for leading primary research, conducting market analysis, and commercializing insights in support of Walmart's goal to grow incremental retail sales.
This position reports to VP Category Management and works closely with our insights, sales, and space lab teams.
The Responsibilities:
* Champion our fact-based selling culture across multi-functional category management team
* Connect category, brand, and revenue management plans to ensure adequate growth by Walmart and Molson Coors
* Utilize space and assortment tools to optimize retailer category and meet the Molson Coors goals, including space allocation process and store clustering/segmentation
* Develop category plans collaboratively with retailer and distributors
* Develop best-in-class technology platforms which drive collaboration across three-tier system, then expanding solutions across other classes of trade
* Lead hypothesis-based research for customer across Beer, Wine, and Spirits categories
* Oversee shopper profiling, store clustering, and macro-space allocation work across TAB department
* Lead and develop a team of ~10 employees
The Other Qualifications:
* At least 8-10 years of progressive sales, category management, consumer & shopper insights experience
* Prior experience in a sales role influencing category buyers at key customers as well experience analyzing syndicated and custom data sources to identify key insights
* Ability to translate strategy into action plans and tools
* Ability to demonstrate effective influence & collaboration without formal authority
* Ability to create solutions that advance all pillars of category management (space & assortment, feature and promotion, category insights, in-store merchandising)
* You are a motivated leader that can inspire others - you respect your commitments and are able to obtain optimal results from your team through respect and development
* You love a challenge - you complete complex projects quickly and adeptly with your understanding of the business priorities
* You are confident and competent - you are diplomatic, professional, and exercise great judgment in developing and maintaining excellent business relationships within the business
