Operational Engineer (Design)

Reports to: Supervisor Operational Engineering

Cooperates with: Engineering, Sales, Production

Primary Responsibility: Define product specifications, develop design solutions, and manage and support existing MIRATECH product offerings per time schedules, quality parameters, customer needs, market needs, and manufacturing capabilities.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Design custom emissions solutions for a range of engineering applications.
2. Complete 3D SolidWorks model modifications for made-to-order MIRATECH products.
3. Create submittal and dimensional drawings for sales support.
4. Create production and assembly drawings for production and fabrication support.
5. Dimensional verification and quality control of finished drawings.
6. Continuous focus on cost reductions in design and fabrication specific to MIRATECH's capabilities.
7. Communicate thoroughly and regularly to establish an efficient working relationship with internal and external customers.
8. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. Graduation from an ABET-accredited university with a bachelor's degree in the field of engineering - Mechanical Engineering preferred.
2. Prefer 3-6 years of experience in a design or technical engineering role.
3. Proficient with SolidWorks modeling and drawing creation; sheet metal experience a plus.
4. SolidWorks CSWP or CSWE preferred.
5. Experience with finite element analysis packages.
6. Experience with computational fluid analysis packages.
7. Working knowledge of Syspro ERP software desired.
8. Experience with SolidWorks PDM desired.
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
10. Ability to work independently to produce high-caliber deliverables in a short time frame.
11. Proficient with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
