Accounts Receivable/Collections Specialist (bilingual French and English)

Job Description

To manage the accounts receivable process which includes coordination of all billing of goods and services, monitoring customer credit exposure, reconciliation of customer accounts and supporting the Canada management and sales teams. Must be bilingual in English and French.

Essential responsibilities include:

  • Generate invoices, credit notes and debit notes
  • Post transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records
  • Reconcile accounts receivable transactions
  • Apply unapplied payments on account
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
  • Correspond with customers and respond to inquiries
  • Prepare customer account reconciliations
  • Produce monthly reports as requested by management
  • Assist with month end closing
  • Work closely with sales department
  • Participate in coordination of and fulfillment of audit requests
  • Assist accounting department as needed

Job Requirements:

  • Associates degree in accounting or equivalent
  • 3-5 years' accounts receivable/ collection experience
  • Bilingual in English/French
  • Knowledge of general accounting procedures
  • Knowledge of relevant accounting software (Oracle)
  • Proficient in data entry
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Knowledge of personal computer system and software required (Microsoft Office) and willingness to learn as new software is introduced
  • Professional telephone etiquette and customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize
  • Ability to meet deadlines set by management
  • Attentive to detail and accuracy
  • Self-motivated, with a proactive attitude towards work and demonstrated belief in continuous improvement.
