Due to tremendous group, they are hiring Program Specialists to join their team. These are temp to hire positions! Shifts are somewhere between 7am and 7pm with some overtime required. Salary is $17.00/hour. Location: Research Triangle Park area.

What will you be doing? The Program Specialist is responsible for serving as the customer’s primary point of contact providing operational and reimbursement support to complex programs. After comprehensive training, you will respond to requests from patients and healthcare partners. Additionally, you will also be in constant contact with medical insurance companies to help patients and providers understand and navigate the complexities of insurance coverage for a prescribed therapy. The Program Specialist needs to be a self-starter who is comfortable taking initiative, identifying barriers, and working with the appropriate parties to eliminate these obstructions for the customers.

Essential Duties:

  • Handle incoming calls from customers and place outgoing calls to patients and healthcare partners

  • Document calls in appropriate tracking system, handle/escalate calls per established guidelines and procedures

  • Conduct insurance research on behalf of patients to determine if they are eligible for their prescribed therapy

  • Work with partner distributors and pharmaceutical manufacturers to request products per assigned program guidelines and track shipments

  • Be familiar with the market place and the insurance options available to educate patients on available options as appropriate

What qualifications and skills do you need to have?

  • Articulate and have a pleasant speaking voice

  • High School Diploma or GED required. A Bachelor’s degree or evidence of continual works towards a degree is strongly preferred.

  • 1+ years of customer service experience, volunteering or other customer facing experiences is preferred with a Bachelor’s Degree.

  • Without a degree, 4+ years of healthcare or customer service experience is preferred.

  • Proficiency with MS Office, including Outlook.

  • Typing 40+ wpm.

  • Good written communication skills (spelling and grammar).

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work the first 90 days without any prior commitments.

  • Ability to successfully pass a background investigation and drug screen.
