Job Description

The Hotel Manager will provide the leadership expertise that ensures the effective and efficient operation of the resort, including, but not limited to, the quality and legal defensibility of services provided, and the achievement of stated operational goals and profitability objectives. Oversee the operations of the resort in order to maximize profitability and to ensure superior guest service and product quality. Participate in total resort management as a member of the resort Leadership Team.
-Management of the Housekeeping, Engineering and Activities functional areas with a special focus on Front Office and Guest Services.
-Act as a liaison between the resort and all of our corporate partners (Facilities Management, Finance, Human Resources).
-Responsible for facilitating special requests, Corporate VIP arrivals, corporate meetings, corporate process improvement projects and facilitating written/verbal communications on behalf of the resort General Manager.
-Work closely with Yield Management to ensure the effectiveness of broad-based marketing plans to achieve budgeted revenues and average daily rates. Work with Finance on departmental budgeting forecasting to consistently exceed revenue expectations.
-Responsible for documenting, verifying managing and processing vendor contracts, Certificates of Liability Insurance and ensure compliance with CSA Internal (Financial) , PCI, Safety, Florida Green Lodging, LRA (Corporate Brand Standard), Health Department and AAA audits in coordination with all departments.
-Support the accurate and timely payment of invoices, payroll and expense reports within the appropriate budgeted direct expense lines.
-Display financial acumen through monthly financial and reporting analysis.


Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Hotel/Restaurant or Business Administration, or equivalent education/experience required.

-Minimum of ten years’ hotel management experience required, with HOA and Vacation Ownership experience preferred.
-Resort competitive markets and revenue management.
-Must have experience managing high volume property.

-Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
-Hands on, feet on the ground management.
-Most tasks are performed independently or in a team environment with the employee acting as a team leader.
-Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and lead others to success.
-Desire to participate as part of a team with a strong track record of ethical leadership and integrity.
-Knowledge of computer accounting programs, math skills as well as budgetary analysis capabilities required.
-Ability to apply supervisory/management (soft) skills.

Physical Demands
-Most tasks are performed independently or in a team environment with the employee acting as a team leader. There is minimal direct supervision.
-Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 5 hours per day. Walking and standing are required the rest of the working day. This includes traveling to and from meetings and may include air travel. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.
-Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems however, may be exposed to the elements.
-Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the hotel on a timely basis.
-Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. occasionally.
