The achievers and courageous challenge-crushers we seek, have the following characteristics and skills: Roles & Responsibilities: You will be working with a major aerospace OEM on aircraft engines and owning the design and/or structural analysis of a component. Job duties may include: • Support technical substantiation using FEA analysis • Contribute and present in technical and program reviews • Design and Analysis using CAE tools (NX, Nastran/Patran, ANSYS Classic, ANSYS workbench) • Direct interface with other internal/external engineering areas • Apply technical principles, theories, and concepts to solve a wide range of challenging engineering problems. • Document all work according to customer requirements • Prepare and present reports on findings This position description is not intended to be all-inclusive, and employee will also perform other tasks as assigned. Required Skills: • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university • Minimum of 5 years' experience in aerospace structural analysis or 3 years' experience with a Master's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university • Expertise with aerospace structures, gas turbines, or turbomachinery • Ability to interact with employees/managers at all levels with strong oral and written communication skills • Have or are willing to get and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance (must be US Citizen) Desired Skills: • Geometry and mesh preparation experience (UG NX, Nastran/Patran, Ansys Workbench/Classic) • Model setup and analysis experience (Nastran/Patran, Ansys Workbench/Classic, ABAQUS) • Experience with post-processing and preparing high-quality presentations of results • Knowledge of strength, fatigue, and durability properties • Knowledge of materials, processes, and part standards • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, work under time constraints, maintain composure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously • Enjoy people and dynamic teams with diverse experiences. We have fun together! • Active DoD Secret clearance (or higher) that is in-scope (granted or renewed within the last 6 years) Physical Requirements & Work Environment: * Mostly Office Environments - position must be on-site at customer facility 40 hours a week * Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work * Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures * Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early * Typical 8-hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9AM to 4PM * Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations. * Due to the nature of the work, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
