Provides analysis of specimens for review by the pathologist.
1. Education/Experience:
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Science; OR, must have one year of experience as a Cytotechnologist.
2. Certification/Registration/Licensure:
Must be registered as a Cytotechnologist through the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (CT-ASCP), or be registered as a Cytotechnologist with an International Accreditation (CT-IAC).
3. Skills or Special Abilities:
Must be able to demonstrate ability to exercise judgment based on technical knowledge. Must be able to demonstrate ability to maintain orderliness and to keep accurate records. Must be able to effectively follow written and oral instructions. Must be able to communicate effectively with laboratory staff and hospital employees.
