**Job Description:**

**JOB SUMMARY**

The Mobile Primary Care Technician provides general, clinical, clerical and technical support to physicians and nurses with the patient's care, comfort and safety as the primary concern. The position requires the ability to make decisions consistent with the Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS) policies and strict observance of confidentiality of patient information.

**JOB QUALIFICATIONS**

**EDUCATION**

_For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation._

**Minimum Required:** Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) _or_ Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification, and successful completed documentation of the following courses (or their equivalent):

+ Medical Terminology

+ Anatomy & Physiology _or_ Body Structure & Function _or_ Human Body in Health & Disease

+ Pharmacology

**Preferred/Optional:** Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) _or_ Registered Nurse (RN) license awarded by the State of Wisconsin in good standing.

**EXPERIENCE**

**Minimum Required:** Clinical and clerical skills including patient preparation, physician order processing, record control, infection control and knowledge of blood borne pathogen procedures.

**Preferred/Optional:** Experience with use of computer. Primary Care and/or Phlebotomy health care experience in an outpatient setting.

**CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES**

_The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position._

**Minimum Required:**

+ Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification awarded by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) _or_

+ Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification awarded by the American Medical Technologists (AMT), _or_

+ Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) _or_ Registered Nurse (RN) license awarded by the State of Wisconsin.

+ Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire **.**

**Preferred/Optional:** Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.

Travel with the mobile unit is required to various communities across the region. One position for the West region and one position for the Central region
