The Rail Risk Management group provides credit risk management support for CIT's Rail business, which is based in Chicago. The Credit Analyst role involves responsibility for managing the new customer credit approval process, portfolio management, compliance, risk reporting ongoing projects to support the CIT Rail business unit. This position provides a great opportunity to develop your analytical skills, while gaining exposure to a dynamic, high growth business that significantly impacts a variety of industries.

The position will directly report to the CIT Rail Chief Risk Officer.


• Analyze, monitor and report on assigned portfolio, proactively identifying portfolio issues and assigning risk ratings;
• Present and defend analysis to management through reports and written memorandums, as well as verbally;
• Prepare credit approval recommendations for new customer leases or loans and placements of new equipment;
• Perform portfolio analytics, conduct industry and company research, and contribute to capital expenditure requests;
• Proactively monitor problem and delinquent accounts;
• Participate in various projects, such as supporting compliance or regulatory requirement initiatives, potential acquisition opportunities or complex transactions;
• Partner and liaison across all functional areas, such as Sales, Finance, Documentation and Operations to facilitate business transactions.


• Bachelor's degree required, Finance, Accounting or Economics major preferred,
• 1-3 years of related experience in financial analysis, preferably in financial services industry,
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills,
• Strong quantitative and qualitative skills required; credit training a big plus,
• Effective organizational skills, detail orientation and quality execution necessary,
• Team player with strong work ethic, integrity and initiative.
