Job Description
Purpose: The Specialist, Physician Recruitment reports to the Administrator and is responsible for the implementation of full-cycle recruitment, employment, and retention of high-quality physicians and mid-levels that support the mission, vision, and values of our system. The Specialist will facilitate the implementation of long and short-term recruitment plans that coincide with the initiatives necessary to support the Health System and the strategic plan. In addition, this role will conduct cold-calling and proactive solicitation to physicians and mid-levels in a designated service area or specialty. The Specialist will source both employed and independent physicians, develop relationships with internal, community, and industry stakeholders, and facilitate communication between the candidate and the Administrator. Responsibilities include communication with physicians facilitating the relocation processes of employing or contracting the physician and/or mid-level. The Specialist is also responsible for coordinating VISA documentation for immigration compliance and initial contract preparation, as well as locum tenens recruitment.
Report To: Administrator
Supervisory Responsibility: No supervision required.
Materials Responsibility: Limited responsibility for material resources.

Co-workers/Health System Employees, Outside Agencies/Other Health Care Providers, General Public/Visitors/Volunteers, Students/Interns/Residents/Outside Instructors, Physicians/Medical Office Staff.
Qualifications
Education: 4-year college/university degree or equivalent experience
Field Of Study: Business or related field
Special Training: Interviewing Skills
Training Preferred: Spreadsheet and database applications; previous Physician Recruitment strongly preferred
Experience: More than 3 years experience required.
Interpersonal Skills: Interaction is with a variety of people inside or outside the organization. Communications are of moderate difficulty and sensitivity. Requires a moderate amount of interpersonal skills.
