Entity and activity description

This role is responsible for engaging with employees and leaders at critical moments in the employee life cycle to ensure an equitable, inclusive and respective experience for all. The Employee Relations (ER) specialist will address issues in a consistent and structured way. The issues include, but are not limited to: workplace investigations, dispute resolution, data analytics, etc.

The focus will be on enhancing the employee experience by identifying and addressing employee concerns early, de-escalating and resolving workplace issues before they reach a level of criticality requiring reactive efforts.

Job Responsibilities

Accountabilities & related Activities:

* Establish credibility and rapport with employees at all levels.
* Lead with integrity, respect, high personal standards and build personal credibility.
* Provide guidance to management and employees on performance, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation.
* Support and coach employees with the goal to drive employee engagement and positive employee relations climate.
* Receive, evaluate, and respond appropriately to escalated and complex employee concerns, identifying potential solutions to address different case types and propose appropriate next steps as the subject matter expert.
* Prepare and present (to key stakeholders) a written summary report of investigative findings with recommendations using a strong understanding of company policy and employment laws.
* Maintain accurate and timely records of documented corrective actions.
* Provide consultation on reorganizations, restructures, and terminations.
* Create processes, tools and key resources to increase efficiency and effectiveness in managing employee relations issues.
* Conduct trend and root cause analysis and provide recommendations for reducing the number of ER issues.
* Identify and aid in the design and facilitation of Manager and HR training based on trends and data analysis.
* Respond to third party employment claims.
* Partner with Legal, Security, Supply Chain, and Internal Audit as needed for HR related matters.
* Identify opportunities to improve ER programs and propose solutions to increase efficiencies across the team.
* Maintain and protect confidential data with great discretion, judgment, and professionalism.
* Provide support as a consultative partner in the areas of policy and regulatory compliance.
* Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.

Expected Competencies and Experience:

* College degree related to Human Resources.
* 5 to 7 years experience in Human Resources, preferably in Employee Relations.
* Knowledge of Workday Solutions, Google G-Suite.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and strong emotional intelligence are required.
* Strong influencing skills leveraging business acumen, expertise, and data.
* Strong working knowledge of US employment laws and regulations.
* High degree of self-motivation and ability to interface with diverse groups of business people.
* Strong written communication skills and ability to develop effective executive level messaging, reports and presentations.
* Must be able to work independently and have own areas of responsibility under general supervision.
* Ability to manage competing priorities.
* Ability to analyze data to arrive at valid conclusions, recommendations, and plans of action.
* Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships.
* Ability to work a flexible schedule across different time zones as needed.
