Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist
Job Status: Non‐Exempt, full‐time Department: Finance
Immediate Supervisor Title: Accounts Payable Supervisor
Job Supervisory Responsibilities: None
General Summary: A non‐exempt position responsible for processing invoices for payment as well as auditing invoices and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with the organizational and IRS guidelines.
• Educate University of Kentucky College of Medicine Providers and administrators on IRS regulations and KMSF policies and procedures related to Accounts Payable.
• Operates as a liaison between the clinical departments and the UK HealthCare Controller Office.
• Provides reports for the KMSF Finance and Audit Committee and the UK HealthCare Controller Office.
• Audits invoices and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with organizational and IRS guidelines.
• Review and posts invoices for payment processing
• Assist with 1099 processing
• Researches and provides payment details as needed.
• Corresponds with departments regarding payment request deficiencies.
• Other duties as assigned.
Education Requirement: Associate Degree in business administration, accounting, finance or related field.
Experience Requirement: Minimum five years of experience in accounts payable (preferably in a health care organization).

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.
Work Environment: Position is in a well‐lighted office environment.
Mental/Physical Requirements: Involves sitting approximately 90 percent of the day, walking or standing the remainder.
Decision Making Requirements: Skill in exercising initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision‐making to achieve organizational objectives.
