MECHANICAL ENGINEER

We are a growing full-service Architectural/ Engineering firm located in Columbus, Ohio. We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer/Designer with a minimum of 5 years' experience in the design of HVAC systems & controls, energy modeling, load analysis/calculations, mechanical equipment selection, and the development of corresponding construction drawings for residential, commercial, institutional, industrial and/or healthcare facilities. Responsibilities include:

Responsibilities
  • Produce HVAC construction drawings and specifications for new and existing facilities utilizing AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Perform field investigations to determine existing conditions.
  • Load analysis and calculations utilizing Trane Trace.
  • Coordinate HVAC requirements with work of other trades including architectural, structural, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical trades.
  • Knowledge and implementation of applicable building codes.
  • Equipment selection and evaluation.
  • Attend meetings with clients and consultants.
  • Perform construction administration including RFI's, change orders, shop drawings, field conflicts, etc.
  • Perform construction observation and develop punch lists.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering OR equivalent experience.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years' (or more) experience.
  • Must be proficient in either AutoCAD or Revit.
  • Strong problem solving, technical, math and science skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet project deadlines and end-goals.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks of varying size and complexity simultaneously.
  • Licensure/Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) required
