Position Summary:
The Brand Communications team is hiring a Director, Influencer Marketing. The Brand Communications team designs and leads the brand influencer programs, oversees the influencer content strategy for organic and paid, manages social media and the brand community as well as PR relationships with a strong focus on digital and social first activations to drive brand awareness, grow brand love and ultimately contribute to lift sales in both channels (DTC and retail).
We are looking for an enthusiastic and strategic marketer to drive and grow a best-in-class influencer marketing program as a key brand and business driver. As a director, you will work at the intersection of strategy, data, and creativity to architect and build the best program for our brand. You are a problem solver, a storyteller, and on the pulse of culture and what’s current in trends in order to drive impactful initiatives that drive brand love and cultural relevance and build community, engagement, and purchase intent. This position will lead in the management and execution of the organic and paid influencer strategy and will be key in establishing and growing influencer relationships for the brand.
This role reports to the VP of Communications.
Key Responsibilities:
Influencer Engagement
- Develop communications strategies across influencer and social to build brand love and advocacy, growing an engaged community and recruiting new consumers into the brand.
- Lead the brand’s influencer strategy through planning and executing product launches, marketing campaigns, and experiential events.
- Utilize analytics to define what are the right KPIs per program and track against them to ensure a measurable ROI.
- Execute influencer campaigns that drive high engagement and resonance at scale with measurable KPIs.
- Drive awareness and engagement through content partnerships, events, seeding, and relationships, ensuring content that fuels other channels and has a measurable impact on business.
- Oversee outreach and management of influencers and brand partners including contract negotiations, deliverables, briefs, and budget management.
- Ongoing influencer identification and meaningful relationship building for the brand; and maintaining strong agent relationships.
- Work with cross-functional partners & external vendors to maintain relationship management tools & processes.
- Develop an evergreen brand experience for influencers that drives excitement, engagement, and love for the brand.
- Lead and execute product seeding strategy, including development and logistics.
- Proactively at the forefront with emerging influencers, culture and trends across social, monitoring competitors and influencer activity to draw on learnings and recommendations.
Measurement and Reporting
- Establish goals and track KPIs to evaluate influencer impact on a monthly basis on key company KPIs.
- Manage all PR/influencer reporting from said monthly KPI reports to new launch and campaign reports.
- Utilize social tools to measure influencer efforts in accordance with KPIs and campaign objectives; Leverage data and benchmarks to provide strategic recommendations.
360 Integrated Marketing
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Creative, Marketing, Retail, etc.) on integrated planning efforts and projects; collaborate on process and brief development for paid influencer and retailer initiatives + deliverables.
- Collaborate cross-functionally on developing and executing go-to-market strategies; including management and execution of influencer-focused campaign project needs and timelines.
- Oversee the budget and track influencer programs and projects.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Minimum 7+ years of relevant beauty experience with significant experience across influencer, social media, and digital content.
- Proven track record in the beauty industry; category knowledge of hair/skin is a plus.
- Hard-working and self-motivated; strong desire to learn along with a professional drive.
- Solid understanding of different PR and influencer marketing strategies and their best practices, including organic vs paid strategies and how they can be utilized to achieve different business goals.
- Tangible experience navigating contracts, talent deals, deal points, and negotiations.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; including the ability to lead internal and executive-level meetings.
- Strong planning and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Demonstrate strategic thinking along with new and innovative ways of executing.
- Self-starter with strong initiative and creative problem-solving skills.
- Excellent acumen of key social channels including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.
- Maintain a strong understanding of activity in the competitive beauty industry and social media landscape.
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in data analytics tools such as Dash Hudson, Sprout Social, Traackr/CreatorIQ, etc.
- Strong managerial experience with the ability to manage a team of associates along with cross-functional partners.
Desired Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
Employment Category:
- Full Time, Exempt.
Compensation Range:
- $120k-$150k.
