Commercial role - Senior Contracts Compliance Officer

PURPOSE: Primary Commercial lead responsible for managing and optimizing value of various 3rd party supply agreements, land assets, and other commercial interests that includes: Providing supply contract lifecycle management from agreement creation through to variation, termination, and dispute resolution. Providing strategic support to senior leaders in the area of Contract Management. Supporting the North America Business Development Director in the evaluation and development of business opportunities to enhance Companyss strategic and commercial position in North America.

RESULTS/DELIVERABLES: Customer-Focused Contracts Management and Procurement Service Be accountable for the rigorous and timely completion of all stages in the vendor management life cycle including: vendor qualification, ongoing management of qualification levels, contract creation, competitive pricing, implementation, performance feedback exchange, mandatory vendor assessment, contract renewal/termination & disqualification. Proactively builds relationships and networks with commercial contacts from key industrial neighbors, suppliers and other key stakeholders to stay abreast of commercial activity which may affect the Geismar site.

POSITION DESCRIPTION SENIOR CONTRACTS COMPLIANCE OFFICER: Monitors and evaluates performance on strategic contracts to ensure compliance with contract terms, regulations, statues, directives, and other policies and procedures. Act as the first escalation point on commercial matters regarding Vendor Management for strategic/major contracts. Establishes and manages key metrics in established contracts and notifies stakeholders on performance, renewals, and other metrics. Analyzes and reports on specific risks/gaps associated with contracts. Ensures that all contractual activities are handled in a professional and ethical manner and that confidentiality of commercial information is always maintained. Negotiates and manages any revenue generating contracts for the Geismar site. Support Procurement Systems and Procedures. Documents and communicates Vendors & Companys compliance and performance against contracts. Supports customers on the appropriate use of contracts. Actively promotes Companys Behaviour Standards. Manage, Champion and Lead Contract Management Process. Provides guidance and support to the Vendor Sponsors and Vendor Key Contacts.

Technical Knowledge & Leadership: Provides technical leadership in area of contract management practices and systems. Provides coaching and direction to customers on strategic direction of contracting functions. Collaborates with Procurement Superintendent in establishing strategic direction of contracting functions. Responsible Care. Conducts all business in a manner which supports the Responsible Care ethic. General Networks with other Company sites for mutual benefit of all sites. Responsible for ensuring awareness of all controlled documents relating to this position as per Document Awareness Report from Document Management Database. Contribute to the operational excellence for Geismar site as an effective member of the Finance department.

QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting or other relevant discipline from an accredited institution required. Masters Degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance, Accounting or other relevant discipline from an accredited institution would be an asset. 10+ years Contracts experience would be an asset.


EXPERIENCE & SKILLS Proven negotiating abilities Awareness of business ethics, good judgment, eye for detail, and integrity Proven working knowledge of Contract and Insurance law, and Tendering processes Knowledge of computerized procurement management systems Computer literacy particularly with Microsoft Office suite of applications Good organizing and planning skills Above average written and oral communication skill
