The Senior Capability Manager will be accountable for the implementation, support, and maintenance of OptumRx clients on external facing Prior Authorization platforms.  This role will lead and guide the work efforts of OptumRx internal teams, clients and vendors in a collaborative and goal-oriented environment.  The Senior Capability Manager is responsible for identifying resources in alignment with project priorities, driving collaboration and decisions across multiple levels of business, vendor, and IT partners to meet and exceed our client expectations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Represent OptumRx to our clients and vendors and act as a single point of contact unifying all aspects of support under the Prior Authorization capability
  • Lead and guide requirement gathering and analysis activities within and outside of direct team
  • Issue management, end-to-end (E2E) testing oversight and project documentation creation
  • Function in a people leader role to provide leadership and guidance in collaborative efforts to identify solutions across various levels of professional staff
  • Communicate and collaborate with IT, business, vendor, and client leadership
  • Identify and influence team resources in alignment with product portfolio needs to ensure a successful client implementation
  • Identify, diffuse, and resolve operational and organizational challenges for OptumRx clients
  • Influence and negotiate across various levels and functional areas to identify viable solutions and drive consensus that meets business objectives and operational stewardship
  • Manage projects, drawing on technical skill sets of how multiple systems communicate with seamless interaction
  • Gather and track program costs and impact on OptumRx and our clients

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience engaging with technology partners, business stakeholders, vendors, and clients
  • Proven experience communicating effectively and influencing others to drive collaboration, alignment and focus on all levels and across lines of business
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Prior Authorization experience
  • PBM experience
  • Project management experience
  • PAHub platform experience

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $97,300 to $176,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $97,300 to $176,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
