Provide education and direction to facilitate clinical and direct patient care staff interventions toward optimizing skin care management and wound care education specific to prevention of pressure ulcers. provides direction and coordination for patient interventions, policies and procedures and documentation to support the achievement of JCAHO regulations related to prevention of hospital acquired pressure ulcers. As appropriate facilitates the process of patient documentation and physician referrals to coordinate outpatient wound care service provision
Associate’s degree from an institution of higher education accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and/or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Specialty Certification in Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing preferred
Valid licensure in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Minimum Work Experience:
