Kforce has a client in search of an Information Technology Laboratory Systems Administrator in Boston, MA.
The Information Technology Laboratory Systems Administrator will be focused on a wide range of activities related to connecting and configuring workstations to operate on secure laboratory networks, ensuring lab personal have appropriate access, creating and applying security certificates, backing up and restoring computer configurations, and troubleshooting all computer problems. The selected candidates will work closely with the Company's Information Technology Services department (ITS) and provide necessary updates. All tasks will be performed in compliance with policies and regulations, such as those outlined in the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA).
Maintain laboratory information management system (LIMS), and overall laboratory computer network, including but not limited to installing, configuring and updating hardware and software applications
Ensure compliance with policies and procedures relating to personally identifiable information, data security policies relating to IT and HIPAA compliance
Provide input to improve existing disaster recovery plan
Recommend network strategies to improve laboratory data processing
Act as the liaison with the company's central information technology department as well as external software vendors, to validate and install software upgrades
Provide customer support and training to laboratory software applications
Regularly tests and evaluate software to ensure functionality and consistency with existing systems
Utilize ticketing system for recording issues, and works to promptly rectify systems errors
Facilitates training to ensure user community can use systems effectively
Communicates effectively with internal and external customers at all layers of the laboratory and company structure
