A community oriented accounting firm in Stockton is searching for an experienced Tax Manager to join their work family. This firm works to provide excellent service to their clients but also takes very good care of their employees. Openings at this firm are rare and they provide year-round training, mentoring, flexible schedules during the non-busy season, and a competitive benefits package. This position has a strong upward growth potentialand track to become a partner for entrepreneurial individuals. This is a full time, direct hire opportunity.

Responsibilities: Advise clients on the tax implications of their business objections, evaluate and select alternative actions to lessen tax burden and cost of compliance, identifying different methods of complying with tax regulations while acting as the primary client contact for complex tax issues. Apply knowledge to understand potential tax issues, and recognizing, communicating potential risks and potential changes in the tax policy and making top-level decisions regarding filing, preparation and resolution of questions from federal / state agencies. Actively participate in the networking and business development within an area of expertise while maintaining client relationships and acting as the primary contact for complex questions. Work closely with staff, and assist senior management in mentoring, coaching, training, supervising, and evaluating staff.

Requirements: CPA license required. Must have 6 to 8 years of recent and relevant experience in U.S. Public accounting. Must have at least 3 years of review and supervisory experience. Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation is required. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Extremely organized withthe ability to multi-task, can manage time appropriately and work within budget parameters. Well-developed work ethic. Excellent technical and research skills; should be detail oriented and well organized with a willingness to learn. Ability to manage all aspects of client work. Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally.
