Associated Veterinary Partners (AVP) is seeking a full-time veterinary technician for our Pepperhill locations in Nebraska - Adams Animal Care in Adams, NE, and Tecumseh Animal Clinic in Tecumseh, NE.

We are looking for a highly skilled, detail oriented Veterinary Technician who is able to work independently, able to communicate effectively with coworkers and clients.

The new veterinary technician will have the opportunity to work very independently and be involved in caseload management.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a team player who is willing to assist with phone calls, collecting payments, assisting in rooms and surgery, and more
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate precisely
  • Interpret medical records and record client history accurately
  • Knowledge of preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow
  • Proficient in sample collection to include blood samples, urine, fecal, and skin
  • Ability to properly set up and process laboratory samples and tests
  • Proficient in anesthesia and surgical monitoring
  • A self-starter with the desire to continue to advance one’s knowledge and skillset
  • Ability to receive in a professional manner constructive feedback to maintain hospital efficiency

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting DVMs during procedures by restraining animals, conducting tests, monitoring vitals, and administering medications
  • Maintaining medical records and communicating with clients on their pets' medical procedures, including the next steps
  • Maintaining the treatment room, including maintaining equipment such as anesthetic machines/ monitors, X-ray machines, dental, etc.
  • Collecting blood and other samples for testing, placing catheters, providing sedation for diagnostic procedures
