The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for all aspects of the accounts payable function while ensuring compliance of all controls and approval processes, to issue timely payment of all vendor invoices, and employee travel expense reimbursements. In this role, the Accounts Payable Manager must be an agent for change, collaborating on Operational Excellence initiatives (via Crane Business System) within the finance function, and focusing on the internal controls and SOX compliance. The Accounts Payable Manager will partner with the finance team and senior business leaders to deliver exceptional financial support and process improvements. The ideal candidate requires self-motivation, must prioritize effectively and work successfully with minimal supervision.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures company policies and procedures are being adhered to as they pertain to accounts payable.
Manage payables, lead SOX compliance in the departments, reporting and communication of the results, and corresponding analysis.
Manage payment of vendor invoices on a weekly basis while ensuring maximum cash flow benefits and achieving monthly DPO targets.
Mange the online travel expense reporting & reimbursement system.
Manage Federal 1099 reporting process.
Oversee and collect state sales & use information required to file state sales tax returns from the accounts payable system and purchasing-card data from online reporting system used by cardholders.
Perform monthly accruals and journal entries required to record accurate liabilities.
Communicate effectively and maintain a professional relationship with external and internal customers, and other trade suppliers.
Assist in the review, recording and payment of freight expenses.
Responsible for reporting and analyzing monthly payments to management and provide back-up as requested.
Manages external and internal auditor relationships to facilitate completion of audit procedures in a timely and efficient manner.
Ability to work well with others across departments to ensure a smooth process flow.
Leads, motivates and develops talent within the organization including, but not limited to, immediate direct reports by coaching, counseling, engaging, and evaluating associate performance through the Crane Intellectual Capital Process.
Identifies opportunities and drives projects to improve business processes and business support.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
Experienced Leadership, 6-8 years of increasingly responsible positions in AP
Associate degree or Bachelors degree required.
Demonstrated experience in process improvement
Demonstrated ability to promote and deliver positive change.
Knowledge of Payment processes and 3-way match process.
Must have solid knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley and internal controls affecting areas of responsibilities.
Working knowledge of any major ERP system required.
