This large established manufacturer west of Albany is seeking a COO or Plant manager.
Your responsibilities will include:
The planning, coordinating and directing of the manufacturing operations of the company. This position is responsible for the planning, organizing and directing the work of employees involved in Production Management, Production Control/Order Entry, Customer Service, Technical Service, Shipping & Receiving and Plant Maintenance1.) Plans, organizes, controls, integrates and evaluates the work of assigned staff; with staff, develops, implements and monitors work plans to achieve goals and objectives.2.) Participates in and contributes to the development of the plants annual operating and capital outlay budget; monitors expenditures against goals and objectives; directs budgetary changes to meet changing conditions.3.) Provides day-to-day leadership and works with staff to ensure the highest level of quality and customer satisfaction.4.) Ensures the effective planning and scheduling of the manufacturing operations in order to achieve a minimum 95% on time delivery.5.) Provides technical assistance to staff.6.) Plans, organizes, directs and evaluates the performance of assigned staff; establishes performance requirements and personal developments targets; regularly monitors performance and provides coaching for performance improvement and development; recommends compensation; takes disciplinary action, up to and including termination, to address performance deficiencies, in accordance with Company policies.7.) Develops and implements strategies and plans to ensure all major production equipment and facilities are operable during peak production periods.8.) Researches and monitors technical developments in techniques, equipment, supplies and material used in the production process.9.) Confers and cooperates with other senior managers to ensure the continued growth and development of the business with the highest possible level of quality and customer satisfaction.10.) Reviews and coordinates with appropriate personnel the implementation of all products testing to ensure conformance with all industry required standards.11.) Confers and cooperates with Corporate Purchasing Department to ensure the timely delivery of inventory and supplies with the most cost effective pricing.12.) Works cross-functionally with Project Management Team to develop new business ideas, new lines of business and products. Uses project management skills to successful delivery project results on time, in line with budget expectations and to strategy.

• 10+ years’ progressively responsible supervisory / management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to train and interface with a diverse workforce, including contingent workforce.
• Ensures safety practices are maintained within the departments and all regulatory requirements are met and exceeded.
• Leadership skills to influence the actions and opinions of others in a desire direction to exhibit judgment in leading others to worthwhile objectives
• Strategic thinking combined with outstanding tactical execution – must possess a sense of urgency.
• Formal Lean training or equivalent experience with a proven track record of business performance improvement desirable.
• Ability to continuously learn and apply new methods and techniques.
