Rivendell Behavioral Health Services of Arkansas is seeking a dynamic Registered Nurse (RN) for PRN hours.
Under the direction of the Director of Nursing and in collaboration as a member of the multidisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse (RN) performs ongoing assessments of the behavioral and medical needs of the patients each shift and accurately chart those observations of the patient. The Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for creating, maintaining and managing a therapeutic milieu within the treatment program to ensure safety of patients and staff. The Registered Nurse (RN) will demonstrate appropriate Therapeutic Boundaries with patients and coworkers. The Registered Nurse (RN) will report to the Charge Nurse/House Supervisors/Director of Nursing and will possibly oversee/supervise LPNs and MHAs in selected aspects of direct clinical care as needed or directed. The Registered Nurse (RN) operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Rules and Regulations of Registered Nurses outlined by the Arkansas Board of Nursing and according to agency operating policies, protocols, and standards.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Experience in psychiatric nursing preferred but not required. Knowledge and understanding of nursing practices and principles within the psychiatric setting. Ability to plan for and provide developmentally appropriate individualized nursing care. Ability to teach select aspects of nursing care to others. Ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and/or making nursing decisions. Ability to work harmoniously and effectively with patients, families, visitors and staff. Must be able to work as a team with all staff/coworkers and maintain the ability to treat all patients with respect.
CPR and verbal de escalation certification is a must and training can be provided upon hire at the hospital.
