Job Description

Due to continued growth and expanding managerial needs, Behavioral Health Network is seeking a seasoned Senior Program Manager to join our leadership team!

The Senior Program Manager will use their experience in urgent care, crisis services, population health, and additions to lead and oversee an extensive continuum of services. Based on their strengths and interests, the program management and leadership responsibilities are somewhat flexible as they supervise and support mid and upper-mid level managers, develop their BHN programs, and manage the budgets and contracts of these programs. The Senior Program Manager will be working mainly in the Pioneer Valley, but BHN has locations in the four counties of Western Massachusetts.

Behavioral Health Network is a growing non-profit community behavioral health agency that has been providing services to children, adults, families and communities in Western Massachusetts since 1938. BHN provides comprehensive, outcome-driven behavioral health care. We are dedicated to offering high quality, affordable and culturally appropriate care to people of all ages and income levels in our constituent communities and employing close to 2,400 individuals throughout Western Massachusetts. BHN provides an extensive range of services including 11 outpatient clinics that are dually licensed for mental health and substance use treatment, a full array of child and family services, the region's Psychiatric Emergency Services Program, addictions services ranging from outpatient to residential and acute detox programs, forensic services and supports to all of the regions courts, and a large array of residential programs and supports to adults with I/DD and to individuals with mental illness.

BHN is also committed to better reflecting the Latino and African-American communities we serve and welcome applications from members of these and other minority communities. While our service territory is the four counties of Western Massachusetts, Behavioral Health Network's predominant presence is in the Pioneer Valley, with its corporate office located in Springfield, MA.

The Senior Program Manager at BHN has the following qualities:

  • Master's Degree in Social Work or related field (required).
  • Independent licensure in Massachusetts-LICSW or LMHC (required).
  • Experience managing behavioral health services (required).
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically.
  • Experience in urgent care, crisis services, population health, and additions (preferred).
