Our greatest asset has been and will continue to be our people.  We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Sr Air Quality Advisor within our U.S. Onshore Air Quality department based in Houston, Texas.

Essential Job Duties: This position will be an integral part of the team responsible for supporting federal and state government mandated air quality compliance reporting programs.  This position provides air quality support to Oxy’s US Onshore Resources and Carbon Management business units, as well as the corporate Environmental, Governance and Sustainability (ESG) group. The role will have specific responsibilities for ensuring compliance with federal air quality programs and supporting the Air Quality team. Essential job duties include:

  • Collect monthly operating data and enter data into calculations workbooks and/or environmental management information software (EMIS).
  • Assist with compiling and submitting federal and state air quality reporting programs
  • Assist with preparation of calculations for emission inventory reports for compliance evaluation
  • Assist in routine evaluations of various compliance programs and the development and updating of environmental programs to collectively improve compliance
  • Assist with scheduling and participation in air quality inspections and audits
  • Willingness to learn and leverage environmental management tools and calculation engines for enhancing organizational efficiencies in performing air quality calculations, ensuring compliance, and submitting reports
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Sciences or equivalent preferred;
  • Ability to read, comprehend, interpret, communicate, and consistently apply environmental rules and regulations; 
  • Well–developed verbal and written communication skills, problem analysis skills, and technical translation skills;
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Access and Excel
  • Strong math, science and computer skills;
  • A keen willingness to learn and participate in environmental engineering projects and programs;
  • 2-5 years of environmental experience in upstream O&G operations
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and adjust quickly to changes in priorities
  • Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of the organization with a multitude of internal and external stakeholders
