Accountemps is in search of a benefits and Payroll accountant to join a medium sized Memphis based client. the ideal candidate will ?Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering timesheet data for wage payments. ?Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, deductions, and job title and department/division transfers. ?Extensive knowledge of payroll laws and regulations. ?Determines payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes. ?Transmit Federal and State payroll taxes. ?Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information. ?Provides payroll and benefits information by answering questions and requests. ?Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes. ?Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping the information confidential. ?Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information. ?Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes. ?Manage workflow as prescribed to maximize efficiency ?Audit timesheets accurately to ensure wages and benefits are properly distributed ?Accurately record and document all transactions, as directed ?Research, analyze, and resolve all discrepancies, reporting to management as needed ?Ensure accurate taxation and garnishment is applied to each account ?Conduct year-end reporting for W-2s, 1095s, etc. ?Communicate with Human Resources to make necessary changes/updates to accounts. ?Remain in compliance with all legal and institutional requirements at all times. ?Demonstrate respect for client privacy. ?Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. ?Create, maintain, and manage both physical and computer files on all current and former employees. ?Enter and maintain all employees demographics in the portal in an accurate and timely manner. ?Maintain and manage both physical and database leave records of full-time employees, to include sick bank records of full-time employees. ?Prepare all state and federal reports concerning payroll including, but not limited to, quarterly state and federal tax reports; FICA reports; monthly retirement reports; insurance and employee deduction reports; and the State Ethics Commission ?Process all garnishments.

Job Requirements

?Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution or an Associate degree in Accounting, Business, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution in addition to ten (10) years of experience in payroll. ?Minimum of two (2) years of payroll experience.
