Introductory Youth Team Coach

The Movement Climbing Team Coach is a part of a team of coaches who are responsible for delivering practice content to our youth climbing teams and crafting the experience for all levels of Youth Team. Youth Team Climbing Coaches partner with the Team Manager to plan and execute programming that results in transformative experiences for youth athletes and teaches life skills through sport climbing.
At the moment we are looking for a coach on Wednesday and Friday Intro Teams. Our Wednesday Intro Team is for climbers between six and eight years of age while our Friday Intro Team is for climbers that are twelve or older. Availability in one or both of these teams is available.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor energy levels and support transformative experiences for athletes while ensuring team activities promote our core values and a sense of belonging in team members.
- Work with Team Manager and Team Coach Supervisors to follow the season schedule and deliver the daily instruction for this level of team including Comps, Events, Training plan etc.
- Coach at all practices of assigned level of team, and competitions as needed based on athlete attendance.
- Provide supervision for youth climbers who will be bouldering and belaying.
- Assist Team Manager with administrative duties for this team level, including monitoring team rosters, tracking belay training, organizing practice notes, and communicating with parents.
- Effectively communicate any issues or concerns with coaching staff and the management team.
- Collaborate with Team Manager to facilitate mentorship opportunities and personal development for their team level.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Embody Movement Core Values and the desired culture of our youth team.
- Passion for working with youth and developing youth climbing athletes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with athletes, coaches, parents, and gym leadership.
- Experience coaching lead climbing/belaying to youth athletes.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Starting pay is at $18.79, with flexibility based on experience. Availability required for Wednesdays from 4pm - 7pm. Hours or days may vary.
