Job Summary

As a Sales Analyst for Spectrum Brands' Global Auto Care business, you will support our Walmart Customer Sales Team in determining and implementing growth initiatives and driving sales to achieve desired growth targets both in-store and online. The Sales Analyst will provide sales reporting and data analytics to our cross functional teams to drive key decision making and results measurement. He or she will proactively work to discover trends and opportunities in the market and suggest strategies and solutions to exploit them. The Sales Analyst will create and maintain weekly and monthly reports regarding sales trends and market share performance and will also play a role in our monthly forecast analysis and planning.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support Profitable & sustainable sales growth through effective Business Reporting and Analysis
    • Develop, maintain, and distribute weekly/monthly reporting and tracking of business trends and results using CustomerPOS data: Sales, Inventory, New Items, Promotional Performance, etc.
      • Evaluate and interpret trends, provide rationale and action steps to the Sales and Brand teams to accelerate growth and/or address gaps
    • Evaluate promotional event performance and efficiency, communicating results, and making recommendations for improvements
      • Including, but not limited to: Planning support for feature display programs, POS bump charts, sell thru results, ROI, competitive promotional tracking and analysis, and auto channel assessments
    • Initiate, develop and undertake ad hoc analyses or projects to inform the cross functional teams of opportunities to drive improved business results for key customers.
    • Assist team with forecasting process to maintain desired forecast accuracy
  • AnalyzeNPD Syndicated Retailer Specific data
    • Perform detailed analysis of complex data and extract key insights to identify areas of opportunity
    • Prepare and distribute monthly market share and related business analysis reports to the sales and marketing teams which identify key opportunity areas and action plans to address.
  • Utilize, support, and lead where necessary, the development of tools necessary to bring simplicity and functionality to data for Sales Team
    • Integration of data from multiple inputs (customer, internal, syndicated)
    • Dashboards
    • Accessible portals / SharePoint / etc.
  • Additional support areas include, but are not limited to, the following:
    • Ecommerce sales tracking and landscape assessment
    • Item setup and maintenance
    • Assist with internal and customer business reviews
    • Assist with deduction analysis

Education and Experience Profile

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Mathematics, Economics, or related field preferred.
  • 2 to 3 years' experience working for a Consumer Package Goods company or Retailer with a track record of generating actionable analyses/results for the Organization.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience using Retail Link required.
  • Working knowledge of syndicated data
  • Advanced experience using Microsoft Office suite including Excel and PowerPoint (utilize and development of pivot tables, graphs, reporting, and presentations) required.
