Lockheed Martin in Greenville, South Carolina is seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer Intern for a position within the Aeronautics Business Area. Manufacturing Test Engineers provide support for all stages of a platforms program lifecycle. The Manufacturing Test Engineering (MTE) discipline is responsible for verification of the integrity of the aircraft build from subassembly to flight line. MTE provides the test equipment, the test procedures, and the on-floor test support needed to ensure functional compliance of every aircraft throughout the build-cycle.

This position will be embedded in developing and maintaining detailed System Checkout Procedures, design and management of test equipment, software development and automation, and systems anomaly resolution. The day-to-day tasking will include working with design engineers and shop floor personnel to support production of our various platforms.

This position required a detail-oriented and organized candidate with demonstrated technical proficiency and capability. Strong communication skills written and verbal are required to successfully interface with various departments within Aero. Must be a US Citizen. This position is at a facility that requires special access.

Basic Qualifications:

Pursuing Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Mechanical Engineering. Technology-related degree plan also acceptable, e.g., Electrical Engineering Technology, Aeronautics Engineering Technology.

Degrees with Manufacturing Testing competency will be considered

Ability to work in a team environment demonstrated through organized group activities

Must be a US Citizen. This position is at a facility that requires special access.

Desired Skills:

Previous manufacturing/operations experience

Desire to obtain an Operations role indicated by expressing interest in hands-on applications of engineering principles

Software programming experience

Analytical troubleshooting abilities to solve complex system-level problems

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment

Proficient with Microsoft Office
