The Pricing Specialist is responsible for evaluating effectiveness of pricing strategies and recommend pricing structures as needed. The Pricing Specialist will provide analysis on volume and margin impact to price changes. The role will also assume the responsibility of all system related deals/promotion and pro show functions, including set-up, changes and processing.

Reporting Structure

The Pricing Specialist will report to the Senior Pricing Manager as part of the Pricing Team. There are no direct reports reporting into this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads efforts to proactively identify margin leakage analysis and propose recommendations to generate increased revenue, profits and customer satisfaction
  • Evaluates effectiveness of pricing strategies and recommends pricing structures as needed
  • Quantifies revenue and margin impact of prices, socio-economic variables and retail network
  • Identifies and recommends margin opportunities by analyzing market pricing, product placements, and product costs
  • Responsible for monthly and quarterly financial analysis of sales growth variances and trends to the P&L report
  • Performs revenue and margin impact analysis of promotions and pricing programs
  • Works cross functionally with Marketing and Master data to manage the new product pricing process
  • Maintains and facilitates National Account pricing requests and changes; also calculates the margin impact of price changes
  • Manages and maintains statistical models including but not limited to:
    • BM market demand forecasting
    • Industry demand forecasting
    • Price elasticity and cannibalization
    • Demographic demand
    • Interpret the analytics findings and present strategic implications to Senior Leadership and CEO staff in an accurate, compelling, and easy-to-understand manner
    • Supports senior management and peers with on-demand analytics (internal consulting)
  • Responsible for all system related deals/promotion and pro show functions, including set-up, changes and processing

Required Skills:

  • BA/BS degree in Economics, Mathematics or Statistics
  • 5+ years of business experience
  • Solid grasp of micro-economics concepts and familiarity with sensitivity analysis
  • Strong technical skills: Microsoft Office; data visualization tools (ie, Tableau, Qlik); data querying tools (ie, Business Intelligence)
  • Familiarity with business quantitative and statistical concepts (CAGR, Weighted Sum, Mean, Median, Standard Deviation, etc.)
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Skilled at multi-tasking in a dynamic team environment
  • Ability to master and oversee complex tasks with minimal supervision
  • Strong business writing and presentation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact well with all levels of management
  • Team player with ability to build productive relationships across many facets of the company
  • This position requires minimal travel on as needed basis
