A local frozen food manufacturing company is looking for a Bid Support Assistant on a temporary to full-time basis. This role will challenge your skills and is within an ever changing environment. If you consider yourself and adaptable, outgoing, and friendly individual this could be the role for you! Responsible for day-to-day administrative/clerical duties associated with, but not limited to the Bid Department/National Sales. What you will be doing: - Organizes bids by due date - Maintain and update bid log. - Prepare and process bid requests and bid awards. - Establish and maintain full-time bid files. - Composes and types routine correspondence and RFP response documents. - Answers telephone and provides information/assistance or routes caller to appropriate staff member. - Prepare POS and send to brokers/suppliers as requested. - Compiles and types statistical reports including tables and text using spreadsheet (Excel). - Assists National Sales/Bid Dept. with monitoring office supplies. - Makes copies, collates, and staples materials as requested. - Maintains product nutritional and update product information as new data come in. - Provide information when needed to end-users. - Offers clerical support to the National Sales team. - Performs other related duties as required by Bid Manager and National Sales team.
Qualifications- - Knowledge of office procedures and methods including telephone communications, office systems, and record keeping. - Knowledge of business communication, including style and format of letters, spreadsheets, etc. - Skill to use a personal computer and various software packages. - Proficient computer skills using Microsoft office software. Advanced knowledge of Excel is helpful. - Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with limited supervision. - Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems. - Professional appearance: grooming and dress consistent with desired corporate image. - Prompt and regular attendance at work. - Past experience in the food manufacturing, food distribution or food brokerage industry is a plus. - Experience in school commodity sales and contracts is a plus!
