Mechanical Technician II (3rd Shift) - *Sign-On and Retention Bonuses Available*

Emerson Sidney/Ohio, OH Full Time
If you are a Technician professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our Sidney, OH location, you will work in conjunction with product and research engineers to design, develop, and qualify compressors for residential and commercial air conditioning systems.  To maintain our role as a global leader of compression solutions we continually seek talented and ambitious technicians to work in our engineering laboratories. 
AS A MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN II, YOU WILL: 
  • Follow engineering laboratory test instructions to performance test compressors.
  • Set-up and install compressors and supporting compressor electronics for test purposes.
  • Operate laboratory test equipment including calorimeters, mass flow stands, data acquisition systems, and other measuring equipment used to acquire compressor compressor persormance characteristics.
  • Fabricate supporting test fixtures and controls required for non-standard tests.
  • Review test data for compliance with applicable test data standards.
  • Perform various tasks related to the upkeep of the lab.

SCHEDULE:
We offer a work-life balance to our employees. Typical working hours for this position are 11:00PM - 7:30AM.
 
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • New hires are eligible for a Sign-On Bonus: $2000, minus applicable taxes. To be paid within first month with company.
  • New hires are eligible for a Retention Bonus after 1 Year: $1000, minus applicable taxes.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Certificate in HVAC, Associate degree in HVAC Technology, Associate Degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology plus one (1) year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Must have troubleshooting and problem solving skills

  • Must have personal computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office programs

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship for this role will not be provided. 

 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  
  • Certificate in HVAC, Associate degree in HVAC Technology, Associate Degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology plus three (3) years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

About our Location
The newly renovated Sidney campus has 1M square feet of manufacturing floor with an additional 120k square feet of leading-edge lab facilities. This location is the headquarters for the air conditioning and cold chain businesses. Through our 30 years of scroll compressor expertise, our air conditioning related products help bring comfort and convenience in commercial, industrial and residential spaces. The cold chain business helps ensure that food safely and efficiently travels from farm to fork. Approximately 1600 employees work in Sidney, who all support a multitude of business functions.
