Manager, Global HIV Medical Affairs, Foster City, CA

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our Global HIV Medical Affairs treatment team and our commitment to continued scientific innovation to provide solutions for the evolving needs of people impacted by HIV around the world.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Global HIV Medical Affairs Biktarvy lead, this Manager role will focus on delivering on our strategic priorities for Biktarvy for HIV treatment in addition to other Global Medical Affairs activities and is officebased in our headquarters in Foster City, CA.

Essential Duties and Job Functions:

  • As a content manager and product expert, serve as a key contributor and knowledge expert for HIV Medical Affairs colleagues and cross-functional partners

  • Independently manage projects related to the analysis of the novel, emerging data and determine relevant information to incorporate into medical content

  • Participate in Medical Affairs global activities including management of internal SharePoint pages, publication and conference data, and medical sub-team meetings

  • Manage the creation, review, and updating of Medical Affairs slide decks and other educational resources, ensuring resources are aligned with the Medical Affairs Plan of Action (POA) and the needs of the field-based Medical Scientists and other stakeholders

  • Work collaboratively with Medical Scientists, Clinical Research, Commercial/Marketing, Medical Information, and other cross-functional teams to address key clinical questions from healthcare providers and community stakeholders

  • Work collaboratively with Gilead personnel across multiple functional areas, including Commercial, Marketing, Clinical Research, Pharmacovigilance and Epidemiology, Regulatory, and Legal/Business Conduct on strategy execution and content creation

  • Complete medical review of global promotional materials

  • Conference-related activities and attendance, including internal preparation and post-conference deck development

  • Provide training within the therapeutic area on relevant topics for Medical Affairs and Commercial personnel

  • Support HIV Medical Affairs Advisory Programs; support or co-lead other medical affairs activities/programs

Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:

  • PharmD, Ph.D., MD, DO, MPH, or other advanced health-related or life science degree

  • Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred, particularly within Medical Affairs

  • Relevant experience in HIV or infectious disease therapeutic area preferred

  • Experience in written communication of clinical data, including slide decks, infographics, videos, or other educational resources

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills are required

  • Committed to continuing education to maintain knowledge base and expand disease state knowledge

  • Ability to utilize moderately complex scientific resources across a variety of different settings

  • Ability to work collaboratively and experience working on cross-functional teams
