Tremco Incorporated is looking for a responsible Facilities Maintenance Technician to maintain and protect our facility. The external and internal appearance of a building reflects on the occupants. It is important for a technician to be careful and thorough in working on maintenance and repairs to the premises. The ideal candidate will be well-rounded, experienced, and knowledgeable in facilities maintenance and/or building trades.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Represents Tremco in a neat, orderly, and professional manner during all
interactions with all employees, coworkers, and visitors.
Performs all maintenance repair or installation work in the following areas: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, paint, etc.
Performs basic electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and construction as required.
Performs routine preventive maintenance and monthly inspection with documentation using CMMS software.
Maintains all maintenance tools, equipment, storage areas, and relates security hardware.
Assist with janitorial duties on a as needed basis.
Works outside the building, as needed, to pick up litter, shovel walkways, throw salt, unload supplies, etc.
Work may occasionally be assigned across multiple Tremco locations and employee must have reliable means of transportation.
Must be able to document maintenance repairs daily in our CMMS software.
Assist with contracted outside services as required.
Is responsible for securing the building.
Moves furniture, materials, and equipment as required and assists with set ups and breakdowns for special events and recreation activities.
Reports to supervisor any acts of vandalism, deliberate littering, equipment failures, or any other extraordinary happenings and takes other corrective action as directed.
Does other work as assigned, and observes good housekeeping and safety habits, including wearing appropriate protective equipment/clothing for the job.
QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES):
4-10 years of experience in building maintenance or skilled trades.
Strong electrical knowledge preferred
Plumbing and HVAC knowledge is a plus.
Ability to read prints, schematics, manual, etc.
Ability to learn the procedures for safely operating equipment (forklifts, man lifts etc.) and performing the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Respects and can communicate and work effectively as a team member.
Is dependable and able to work flexible hours and overtime when required.
This position requires response to property, security, building, equipment, employee, and regulatory issues 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Has a high level of personal integrity.
Can organize and perform work with minimal direct supervision.
Must have a strong mechanical aptitude and abilities.
Has the ability to learn the procedures for safely operating the equipment and performing the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Must have knowledge of the requirements of the entire building to which assigned and be able to demonstrate proficiency with various pieces of equipment necessary to the performance of the job.
Education, Training, and Licensing Requirements:
High school diploma with additional education and training in various technical fields.
Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain throughout employment.
Has the ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
Understands basic math.
Has the ability to acquire a basic knowledge of OSHA, health, and environmental regulations.
