Position Description:
The Centralized Scheduling and Pre-Access Manager is responsible for management of OMC, MCMC & OHP scheduling, pre-registration and pre-certification/authorization of services supported by the centralized unit. The position also oversees the pre-service financial clearance functions supportive of front end performance optimization and patient education. The position is responsible for staffing of resources in accordance with volume demands necessary to meet patient, physician and organization needs. The position is required to remain current on all payer and regulatory mandates to ensure patient and payment compliance is obtained. Works with Patient Access Director, other departmental directors and VP of Revenue Cycle to establish & support departmental and organizational goals and activities.
Education:
Minimum - 2 Year / Associate Degree - Plus 10 or more years of related supervisory experience
Preferred - 4 Year / Bachelors Degree - Plus 3-5 years of related supervisory experience
Experience:
Minimum - 3 - 5 Years - Supervision of scheduling and/or pre-cert in acute care environment.
Preferred - More than 5 Years - Supervision of centralized scheduling & pre-cert in acute environment
Skills:
Minimum - Ability to Multi Task and Prioritize
Minimum - Grammar/Spelling
Minimum - Medical terminology - Must have either medical terminology, clinical, or coding knowledge
Minimum - Management Experience
Minimum - Organizational
Minimum - Verbal Communication - Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in documented form to support initiatives
Minimum - Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, Power Point
Minimum - Customer Relations - Ability to conduct transparent and collaborative conversations with clinic staff, departmental leaders and patients to ensure customer satisfaction.
Preferred - Conflict Management
Preferred - Budgetary & Fiscal Mgmt
