The preferred candidate will have a total of 10 or more years' experience in the Information Technology/ Information Security industry, with minimum of 5 years of IT Service Management experience. Candidate must have strong communications skills, both written and verbal, be comfortable presenting information to both technical personnel and customer managers and executives.
This is a role in which the candidate must be able to manage the day-to-day process of Configuration management and technical care and feeding of the CMDB (Configuration Management Database. The preferred candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform the tasks required to manage the CMDB. Holding the certifications ITIL is REQUIRED. Holding additional technical certifications for related network or security technologies is a plus for this position.
This position is based in AUSTIN, TX, and will support the customer's 24x7 Security Operations Center (SOC). This position is in direct support (on-site at customer facilities) of an AT&T customer in the government sector. AT&T is providing Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) functions related to the Security Operations Center (SOC) including Tier 1 through Tier 3 resource capabilities and activities related to security monitoring, threat, and vulnerability management and incident response (IR). Preference will be made for candidates who can support 'non-business hours' shifts.
Selected candidates must be US Citizens, pass a CJIS background check process, and complete basic safety and security training to meet the customer requirements.
Responsible for establishing technology configuration control requirements and procedures and providing guidance and direction to peers to assure compliance with established procedures and guidelines.
Control and coordination of efforts required to affect the initial preparation of Configuration Management security equipment.
Provide technical guidance relative to policy and requirements; monitoring and guiding the efforts of others to ensure the technical Configuration Management requirements and schedules are met and coordinated with the overall program schedule
Monitors efforts to ensure maximum utilization of resulting data in describing and maintaining production definition.
Develop management controls to ensure that system definition in the configuration identification program is compatible in order to adequately support engineering, procurement, production, inspection and maintenance phases of the system.
Reviews changes to the documentation to assure compliance with configuration management policies and regulations; reviews configuration management plans and prepares inputs to contract scopes of work to assure adequate preparation of changes and processing of changes.
Establish the Configuration Management documentation required for system and production baselines required in the acquisition process.
Review and determines the adequacy and accuracy of the system specifications and production identification baselines as defined respectively in a system/development specification and Technical Data Package which can be used for procurement and production without resorting to further design effort.
Plans and establishes the requirements for the development of a status accounting system to provide management visibility, current status and changes, design deviations and waivers from initiation to proper recording in appropriate Configuration Management documentation.
Responsible for auditing the status accounting system to determine adequacy, accuracy, and validity of data furnished.
Prepare scopes of work for tasks necessary to be performed to provide a good data bank for status accounting.
Schedules, plans and performs formal physical and functional configuration audits; consolidates and prepares comments for updating documentation.
Provides advice and assistance to other functional offices; regarding Configuration Management and be a primary representative for the equipment Configuration Control Board.
Establish and maintains liaison with higher authority, other Government agencies and contractors in relation to configuration management identification and documentation status accounting.
Interpreting and applying configuration management policies, management directives, and guidance to draft various documents.
Understanding the applicability of the acquisition process and life cycle of systems.
Reviewing configuration management plans to provide input into contract scope of work and to ensure adequate preparation and processing of changes
Inform management about configuration and CMDB issues.
Monitor documentation to ensure accuracy and quality.
Qualifying Experience and Attributes

Master of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library, current version [ITIL]).
Knowledge of key concepts in service management (e.g., Release Management, Patch Management).
Knowledge of Virtual Private Network (VPN) security.
Knowledge of different types of network communication (e.g., LAN, WAN, WLAN, WWAN).
Knowledge of file extensions (e.g., .dll, .bat, .zip, .pcap, .gzip).
Knowledge of system administration, network, and operating system hardening techniques.
