Position Summary:

We have an outstanding opportunity for an Electrical Designer (Level 3), to join our robust Engineering Department, working on complex construction related electrical projects. An Engineer Level 3 independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making adaptations and modifications. Assignments have clear and specified objectives. This level requires developmental experience in a professional position or equivalent graduate-level education. Receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and possible solutions. Assistance is furnished on unusual problems. Work is reviewed for correctness and application of the QAQC Process and professional judgment. Includes responsibilities and tasks outlined in Engineer Levels 1 – 2. This position reports the Engineering Manager

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • May supervise or coordinate the work of other designers and CAD drafters

Essential Job Functions:

  • Performing progressively independent design of power and lighting systems
  • Performing design tasks assigned by Designers or Engineers
  • Performing markup of the electrical power and lighting systems/ preparation of drawings
  • Assembling design drawings and documents and provide or coordinate delivery
  • Performing broad range of engineering calculations - and use of software tools
  • Coordinating portions of design effort and coordination of project scope requirements

Other Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Performing engineering calculations - develop
  • Increased interaction with Project manager, external design team and information management
  • Maintaining professional and technical development goals to acquire PE certification
  • Mentoring Designers
  • Obtaining Professional Development and Training
  • Providing Conformance to the Standards and processes outlined by the CAD/BIM Manager
  • Thorough understanding of the Engineering department's design and CAD/BIM workflows
  • In-depth understanding of CEI's business inter-department functions
  • Highly proficient use of AutoCAD - MEP/REVIT, CAD and file management
  • Thoroughly proficient understanding of fundamental power & lighting systems
  • Comprehensive understanding of the various State and National CODES governing our work

Requirements:

  • Electrical Engineering or similar Bachelor of Science degree
  • 2-3 years working for an electrical design firm or design build electrical contractor
  • Basic Microsoft Office applications, AutoCAD - MEP/REVIT - Etap/SKM (desired)
  • Good time management, communication and people skills
  • FE (EIT)
